How to Use Short Notes Strategically
The Purpose of Short Notes: Short notes are NOT meant for learning a chapter for the first time. They are high-density revision tools designed to jog your memory of a 20-hour chapter in just 15 minutes before a mock test.
When to Use Them:
- First 8 Months: Do not rely on short notes. Focus on detailed class notes and deep conceptual learning.
- Last 2-3 Months: Switch entirely to short notes. You cannot physically revise 90 chapters from full notes in the days leading up to JEE. Short notes become your lifeline.
What Should Be in Them: Only formulas, rare exceptions, graphs, key reaction mechanisms, and extremely tricky concepts you tend to forget. There should be absolutely no lengthy derivations or paragraphs of basic theory.
The Final Personalization: While downloading topper short notes is a fantastic starting point, you must eventually annotate them. Whenever you make a mistake in a mock test, write that specific learning in the margin of your short notes.
